Bury Vet’s League honoured Ainsworth Bowling Club with a request to host the final of the Jim Verity Cup. Stanley Conservative Club and The Buchanon Club were the finalists. The weather was poor, but the match continued in a friendly manner. The scores were level after seven games with Stanley winning the eighth match by four points.

Charity Bowls Match

The Landlord of the Duke William pub Nick Zanella arranged a bowling match at Ainsworth Bowling Club. His colleagues and friends played bowls in the afternoon and then retired to the "Duke" for a curry prepared by their host. Proceeds from the match, £250 were donated to the charity CRY.

Manchester City Tour Guides

On May 22nd members of the Manchester City FC Tour Guide Staff along with sports writer Andy Buckley had a morning bowling, followed by bacon sandwiches, washed down with a good brew.
